graphic design and websites with
beauty and brains.
Design is muscular — it works hard, transforming a sketch, a wireframe, or a blank screen into a living, breathing experience that communicates powerfully and creatively, reaching out to your users so they can effortlessly get what they came for. My job is to bring your site, design, brand, and marketing to life; to attract and guide your users, to communicate your message, to infuse it with your identity, yet somehow be invisible, so your visitors are magically wowed without ever knowing how.
Arguably the most important phase of the process because what's decided here sets the stage for the entire project.
*It is recommend that you choose a small team of up to two individuals to interact with me and make final decisions. "Design by committee" leads to below-average designs with above-average prices and delayed deadlines.
The visual layout of the website begins to take shape. I sit down and begin creating schematics and wireframing out the designs, giving careful thought to position, size and proportions. Taking the carefully crafted wireframes & user flows into consideration, I will then start to flesh out the UI until I’m happy with it. Then it’s the time for little tweaks until you're happy as well.
(Please Note: This Review Period is the easiest time to make changes, not after the design has been coded.)
Now it’s time for the really fun part! Taking those designs and using my front-end skills to make them awesome. Whether it be a quick static site, an online informational brochure, or even a responsive site - it’s going to work extremely well.
Now that all the hard work is done there’s just a few final i’s to dot and t’s to cross so your beautiful new site can go live, and I can celebrate by sending over the final invoice. What a treat.
Following your site's launch, your packaged source files will be returned to you and we can exchange high-fives! Yay! I'm so proud of us.
Is the site ever really "done"?
Now that you have a site, keep in mind that it's always a good idea to keep your site updated and fresh but not all websites have content that constantly changes. Websites for small- to medium-sized businesses usually require only a few changes throughout the year, such as when featuring a new product or making an event announcement.
Did I mention I design stuff? I’ve had plenty of fun creating a bunch of designs and websites for both worldwide clients and for myself as personal projects. Every project I undertake is a fresh challenge and I strive to constantly bring innovative ideas to my creative approach in order to broaden my artistic and technical expertise. Here’s a collection of some of my favorite projects so far.

Prompt: Create an image involving a famous icon in a new time period and circumstances/environment. There should be a connecting story between the original work of art and your updated version.
Solution: I took Rosie the Riveter and imagined what she'd look like after the war effort, at the height of the Baby Boom. Soldiers returning to the United States following tours of duty overseas during WWII began families, which brought about a significant number of new children into the world. Because of this, I concluded that a logical state for Rosie the Riveter to be in post-war would be pregnancy.

The Power of Positive Thinking and Prayer
"In January 2008, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Not great news. The next three days were scary for me and my husband. Time was spent researching my tumor and aligning myself with a top-notch medical team. Brain surgery was scheduled for a month later. Being a 'glass half full thinker', right from the start I had complete confidence that I was going to be fine. However, I did spend a great deal of time thinking about myself, mostly in the middle of the night. The support from family, friends, and even casual acquaintances impacted me in a way that cannot be measured. The acronym came to me one night; the 'Power Of Positive Thinking And Prayer'. I feel strangely tied to this silly little phrase. POPTAP® so simply represents what I believe and how I live. Hats with POPTAP embroidered on the front were made for me, my husband, and two daughters to wear to the hospital the morning of my surgery.
We love sharing the story and all that it represents. My surgery was a complete success and in very short time I was back to my old self. Since then POPTAP has taken a life of its own. Many hats have been given to people who face medical or other unusual challenges. For me there are no limits to the Power of Positive Thinking and Prayer. POPTAP merchandise (such as hats, t-shirts, key chains, and magnets) communicates hope and positive energy in times of life's adversities. When worn, smiles magically appear. Everyone at some point in time faces life's misfortunes: medical, physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, and more. As simplistic as it may appear, it is my hope that POPTAP will do for you what it did for me and my family. POPTAP is ageless and timeless; it has no beginning or end."

Prompt: Create a single scene involving a famous series of images. The style of your scene should be similar to the original series of artwork.
Solution: Inspired by Totentanz (Dance of Death/Danse Macabre), an artistic genre of late-medieval allegory on the universality of death; no matter one's station in life, Death unites all. The Danse Macabre consists of the dead or personified Death summoning representatives from all walks of life to dance along to the grave (or to the funeral pyre in this case), typically with a pope, emperor, king, child, and labourer. They were produced to remind people of the fragility of their lives and how vain were the glories of earthly life.

The War for Earth has begun. Decide how it ends.
Not everyone will survive. An ancient alien race, known only as the Reapers, has launched an all-out invasion leaving nothing but a trail of destruction in its wake. Earth has been taken, the galaxy is on the verge of total annihiliation, and you are the only one who can stop them. The price of failure is extinction.
You are Commander Shepard, a soldier that you can forge in your own image. You determine how events will play out, which planets to explore, and whom to form alliances with as you rally a force to eliminate the Reaper threat once and for all. How you wage this war is completely up to you; go into combat with guns blazing or use cover to plan a more tactical assault. Utilize your squad to full effect or take a lone wolf approach. Rain death from a distance or go toe-to-toe with enemies using devastating melee attacks. Mass Effect 3 will react to each decision you make as you play through a truly unique experiencve of your own creation.

Visit WebsiteI call myself a Web Designer first and foremost, yet I have skills and passions in many areas of graphic design, marketing, print media, computing, internet, programming, design, and troubleshooting. Okay, I lied a little. I'm not passionate about troubleshooting but I seem to have a mind that's tuned to that sort of thing.
I began studying illustration and design in 2007 at Virginia Commonwealth University and started teaching myself web design in 2010. Since then, I have redesigned my current employer's entire website all on my lonesome (oh the joys of being the company's sole Graphic/Web Designer) and have been working as a freelancer on the side. In a nutshell, that means that I sit at my shiny computer all day long creating snazzy designs for cool folks from around the world. It's great!
As a web and graphic designer, I have the privilege of helping clients create unique and memorable experiences. I enjoy the entire creative process, having built up experience the last 6 years in visual design and front-end web development. I strive to communicate clear messages that call users to action. I want to create things that help others succeed.
Front-end Web Developer and Software Engineer.
As Velocity Micro's sole Graphic and Web Designer, I was responsible for new product logos, product packaging design, photo retouching, web advertising, product promotional videos, email marketing, and designing/managing Velocity Micro's website.
Self-employed freelancer for both private and commercial clients in the United States and abroad.
Responsible for high-definition, television-ready graphics and animations for various news stations in the American Southeast. Successfully handled a constant flow of work orders from over twenty stations without sacrificing quality of product.
Worked as an assistant to a freelance illustrator to create an exhibit for a children's museum in Louisiana and an educational comic for the Virginia Historical Society. Entrusted with completing and stream-lining supervisor's illustration as a result of my demonstrated ability to promptly resolve design and formatting issues to meet clients' standards and expectations.
