The Atlantic Aire String Quartet was formed in 2012 at the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Salem High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where all of the members currently attend.

Atlantic Aire's own James Yarberry wins Garrett Contest
James Yarberry auditioned for, and won, a national contest for a chance to meet World-Record-Holding Violinist, David Garrett. The winners of the contest received the opportunity to meet with David, accompany him to a sound check, and free tickets to the evening's performance. Garrett currently holds a Guinness World Record as the World's Fastest Violinist.
